Ted Openshaw

Ted Openshaw first studied painting in the early 60’s in Birmingham, AL with Percy Rouse, a commercial illustrator and fine arts painter. Ted has taken workshops and classes at the Dunedin Fine Arts Center and the St Petersburg Art Center in Florida. Otherwise, he is a self-taught artist having been greatly influenced and encouraged by Carol Parrish, an Alabama artist.

Ted has exhibited paintings at Horse Pens 40 in Alabama. In Pinellas County, FL, he has exhibited in local shows and at the H'art Gallery in Dunedin . His work has recently been shown at the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute and the Cultural Arts Center as wll as Avondale's Art in the Park.

Ted's paintings are in collections in Birmingham, AL, New Orleans, LA, and in the Tampa Bay area in Florida. Ted is currently a member of the Birmingham Art Association  and of the Creative Artists Guild in Dunedin  Florida.
